What's up party people. I hope you're all doing fine. I've been better. I recently cut my thumb at work while slicing. For those unaware, I work at a sub shop. I cut myself over the top of my thumb, right on top of my knuckle. Writing has been interesting to say the least. I am not allowed to bend my right thumb. I'll leave you with that and possibly pictures later on.

The Weekly Review with TGO #10

Thumb Up!

I. Off The Wall

I was recently interviewed by @ThatJohnnyGuy for his podcast Off The Wall. It was a fun time and I hope to do it again in the future. It was my first time doing a podcast! It has given me plenty of ideas. I will warn you that this episode does get a little heavy later on.

II. June Games 2022

An old project of mine is officially rebooted! If you're a fan of video games, come learn the history and impact on the gaming industry these people have had on my @Dohn page.

DAY 1 - H. G. Wells

DAY 2 - William Higinbotham

DAY 3 - Raymond Redheffer

That's about it. It has been a bit of an uneventful week. The launch of the redesign of The Tank Tribune was a success. Besides that, I'm recovering from my injury. Thank you to those who follow me here, although I prefer if you would follow and share my other works with the Newgrounds Community.

It has been a while. A lot has been happening during this time. Holidays came and went. Nothing spectacular to note there. I'm looking to be back on full cylinders and catch up with all of my work. I now have a work schedule that works for me which is a good thing. I can do my day job, which is working at a sub shop, then my night job, which is Newgrounds. Which if you're a patron on my Patreon. Thank you. Your contributions help pay two bills that I don't have to worry about. I'm looking to expand with some ideas that I'll detail below.

The Weekly Review with TGO #9

We're Gonna Make All The Things

I. The Tank Tribune

If you're on my Patreon then you already know what is coming for The Tank Tribune WAY before here. If you're a follower here on my page, then this will be the reveal for you. The Tank Tribune will be returning to new issues every Sunday going forward! There will be new headers, the return of the Sunday Console, an expanded Community section, and some retired sections such as Forum History and Member's Choice. The Tank Tribune will also be turning two years old this June, so I'm working on an Anniversary Issue. Speaking of June...

II. June Games

A project I started back in 2012 is getting rebooted and revived on my Dohn page. Each day of June I will be talking about a person or people who have made an impact in the video game industry and became, for lack of a better word, game changers. I ask that you follow my Dohn page. As for The Underground. That had to take a seat on the back burner. That series will debut this Fall.

III. The Interviewer

I have neglected The Interviewer for quite a while. I've still been working on it, just not as fast as I should. I need to get back into that. There is a huge backlog. Do not worry though. This coming Wednesday will be the last Lost Episode interview with MaestroRage, then we will be back to your regularly scheduled program.

IV. Archive

If you haven't checked out the Archive, please do. I've been building it up a lot. With the Developer's Spotlight archived from Newgrounds Mag. There will be new fonts added in the Dumping Grounds for it. I have been working on playlists that chronicle the Triple Crown Winners on Newgrounds. Movies or Games in the Portal that have won the Daily Feature, Weekly 1st Place, and Review Crew Pick awards for that week. I am looking to polish off the Developer's Spotlight section first and foremost while also working on the Triple Crown Winners playlist. The Archive will be updated every Tuesday going forward.

That's all I have to say. I am working on a top-secret project with @Edeshye. @ThatJohnnyGuy and I are scheming, that's all I'll say on that. I wanna give a shoutout to @DrSevenSeizeMD, @BenTibbetts, and @ninjamuffin for being my biggest cheerleaders and supporters. They've been with me since The Interviewer and through The Tank Tribune. Thank all of you who follow my main account. You really don't have to, but I guess it is best to see what I'm up to now.

Hello Newgrounds! I am back to 100% once again! It has sucked to be limited to just browsing the site. I have been getting my backlog organized and have rearranged my office. I have Thanksgiving preparations almost out of the way and Christmas shopping almost done! It has been an eventful and busy couple of months. I have sent off questions for an interview with a famous Newgrounds member and have two interviews backlogged ready to be posted. Expect The Interviewer's return this Wednesday!

The Weekly Review with TGO #8

HEALING PROCESS COMPLETE

I. The Tank Tribune

I am currently working on making The Tank Tribune more presentable. As much as I love the blog system here on Newgrounds, it is a bit limited in what I can do. This is something I have been working on during my recovery process. The Tank Tribune will be making its grand return in December!

II. Deli Stories

This was an idea that I had and at first I didn't want to follow through with it. Now that I have left my past job of eight years and am working for a competitor, I think it is time to tell these stories. I will be gracing the Writing Forum with these soon. It starts off happy and slowly gets worse. There is a happy ending though, that I assure you.

III. The Interviewer and Somber Pensive

I have interviews for both of these ready to go. Both of these projects I have been neglecting lately, mostly because I wanted to make The Tank Tribune all it could be. These will be making their respective come backs. With The Interviewer resuming this Wednesday and Somber Pensive resuming next Tuesday. A full content schedule should be up by next week, so be on the lookout for that.

IV. Patreon

To all of my patrons on Patreon I am grateful to you all. I really need to be pushing more perks over there, especially on the Behind the Scenes content and Exclusive content. It is one of the reasons why I have been reworking The Tank Tribune. I only hope it turns out the way I want it to be. There will be some great content coming to you there.

It is great to be back on Newgrounds with everything going on. I hated having to be a lurker and not being able to contribute or do anything here on the site. Thanks to @Anonymous-Frog for keeping readers entertained through the Tankman Triweekly. Thanks to @ThatJohnnyGuy for the best wishes in his Off The Wall Podcast. You should check that out if you haven't yet. Thank you all again for your kindness, patience, and understanding.

For those who are readers of The Tank Tribune, I will be putting it on hold until December. I've been working on updating it once again and am looking to do more for Patreon going forward on The Tank Tribune. Also I need to catch up on The Interviewer and I'm hoping to debut The Underground in January.

The reason for my absence is that both of my wrists have been causing me problems lately. My left wrist was through a pinched nerve and it is starting to give me problems again. My right wrist has been giving me problems as well and I've just now been getting back to 100%. I have missed all of you during this time, I was not able to write though so I couldn't even chat in the forums.

Oddly enough @Anonymous-Frog was correct in the Tankman Triweekly, I am not losing an arm over this. I've been needing time to recover and I am almost there. I can do enough in small bursts. I am looking forward to rejoining all of you here soon.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Alot of people have been following my main page lately. Which I thank those who have, I would prefer you follow my other projects, @TheTankTribune, @TheInterviewer, and @Dohn. I guess if you want a grab bag and like what I have to say then by all means hit that Follow button. I intend to give followers of my main page here something to enjoy. It will be going by a different name going forward though.

The Weekly Review with TGO #7

A New Method

I. The End of the Beginning

I've been working on a multitude of different ways to organize my work into a structure where I can work on multiple projects at once and not be overwhelmed. I think I have a system in place by combining the GTD Method with D&D of all things. I'll elaborate more on it in the coming weeks. Next week will be the test run of it so to speak to see how things work.

II. Carpal Tunnel and New Job

Last I updated everyone here, I had the beginning stages of carpal tunnel. I didn't follow up with the hand doctor, but my wrist has recovered. My old job I had to slice sandwiches fresh and I move at an incredible speed. This wasn't a problem except that every weekend I would be pulling double shifts and would be the main slicer there while being understaffed. This incident was the first in multiple steps that made me quit my job and go work for a competitor. I have a new job now with better working hours, actual staff, and overall a better environment that leaves me less stressed and able to work on Newgrounds projects as well as my other side projects that I have neglected lately. If you're still waiting on an interview I apologize for the delay. There's been a lot on the back burner and I have stretched myself thin once again.

III. Newgrounds Audio DeathMatch 2021

If you keep up with the happenings in the Audio Portal and Audio Forum you may have noticed that I am one of the judges for this year's DeathMatch. I am grateful to @SplatterDash for giving me this opportunity. Ever since I came to Newgrounds, the Audio Portal has been one of my favorite sections of Newgrounds. This competition is fierce and judging it is no easy task. It is a lot of fun though!

That's it so far really. We'll see how the following week plays out. I'm in the process of making more headers for my projects and hopefully being able to work on my book going forward. I am currently working on judging entries for the DeathMatch and writing a manual for household management. Things that need to be done. Thank you to all of my supporters both on Newgrounds and my Patreon. Seriously, you have no idea how much your support means to me.

I won't be as active with my writings lately. My wrists have been hurting lately, particularly the left one. One of my nerves became pinched cutting off circulation. It made my heart go crazy, made it hard to breathe, and my left hand and left arm went numb.

I have to follow up with a hand doctor, as of right now though it looks like beginning stages of carpal tunnel. I'll still be lurking on the site as usual, but I have to take a break from doing as much writing as I do. The Tank Tribune will still be coming out though. I'm not stopping writing, but I have to slow down now.

Typing with a wrist brace is a bitch.

Getting on track and getting things done. I have finally gotten this system down pat. It has taken a while, but I'm glad that I finally have something that works. This entire month is planned out perfectly. I have projects that I have to work on and projects that needed to be posted for the month. Each day has one item that needs to be taken care of. I'll be posting how this system works in the future. I am interested in how all of you get your projects and work done as well, so please share below. With that out of the way, here's what's been going on.

The Weekly Review with TGO #6

It's All Coming Together

I. Daily Postings

So far this is all going well since I last spoke to all of you. Everything on the calendar was posted when it needed to be. I'm sorry I just didn't have this review up yet. That's the last piece that I need to take care of. If you're on my Patreon then you can see the full list of things I'm working on as well as the full calendar. The calendar will become more exclusive in the future, since most of the items on it I've talked about already I've left them open. Some items have already been posted this month. If you're already one of my Patrons then you can see the full task list here.

iu_275674_1725585.png

II. Schedule For May

I now have a schedule for content that I'm looking at posting. This schedule will be in full effect starting in May. Some of this schedule is already in effect as you have seen. Expect something to be posted every day Monday through Friday.

iu_275673_1725585.png

III. The Interviewer

I have interviews in the works right now. I am working on the winners of the Flash Forward Jam and will have the Patreon exclusive interview up on Patreon this coming Wednesday. The delay was working on the presentation of the interview. I'm still working on that part, but for now I think it is best to deliver if I don't have it ready by then. In the meantime here are the past few interviews posted.

@squeakytoad and @kelwynshade are two veterans to the site. You have may seen squeakytoad's Castle Crashers toons and heard kelwynshade's music! @Phonometrologist was the winner of the 2020 Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch!

The Index Page has been moved off this main account and onto The Interviewer. The old Index Page is still there, just as an introductory page now. Every interview has been formatted finally to this redesign. They all look amazing!

IV. Archive

I have been working on the Newgrounds Archive for a while now and would love to have more eyes on it. I've collected a lot of old stuff from @Aksuma who kept an archive for years. I will be sharing this through the Dumping Grounds along with some other cool stuff. I've also added @Troisnyx Lentel Prompts project to the albums. I'm looking to do a lot more with contest winners going forward! I have also added The Sketch Collab Soundtrack too! Check them out!

iu_275675_1725585.png iu_275676_1725585.png

Developer Spotlight

Part of the Archive is the Developer Spotlight. These are the old interviews that were on the NG Mag that inspired @TheInterviewer. They are being posted in the Archive and are an important part of Newgrounds history. Here are the ones posted so far.

I hope you gain interest in the Archive. The Internet is hard to preserve and Newgrounds is one of the only sites I know that preserves as much as its history as possible.

V. The Tank Tribune

The Tank Tribune has been on fire lately! I have something special planned for Issue No. 40! If you're on Patreon then you already know what it is going to be. If you're not then you'll just have to wait. It's not too far away though. If you didn't read the past issues then check them out and catch up on the hip happenings of Newgrounds!

If you enjoy the taglines at the top of each new issue then you can submit your own in the Tagline Thread!

VI. Dohn's Desk and Community

I'm not sure what to do with Dohn's Desk articles in the future. I feel forcing it would be wrong. I am going to write these articles as they come to me. There is a new edition to it though. My Little Pony: Retrospective. A look back on the Pony craze here on Newgrounds and my thoughts on it.

Last month @LucaTheHuman made a thread entitled Gimme some OCs to sketch out. I suggested my profile picture which I have made my Internet persona. He thought it was challenging, but nailed it making something incredible! I absolutely love it!

iu_275677_1725585.jpg

iu_275680_1725585.jpg

VII. Headers

When I started The Tank Tribune I made a header that would be at the top of each issue. I thought it looked neat. When I was formatting The Interviewer I made a header to be at the top of each new interview. I have decided going forward that each project will have its own dedicated header. One it would look great and two it would help readers differentiate between each project.

iu_275678_1725585.png

iu_275679_1725585.png

That's it! I hope you have enjoyed what I've been doing. The Tank Tribune and The Interviewer now have over 400 fans! My main account has over 200 fans! I am more than thankful for my own projects surpassing 400 fans, but I will never understand why people follow my main account. There's not that much going on on it. I thank you all though. It means more to me than any of you will ever know. Thanks for sticking around. I'm glad to have you here.

It has been a couple of months hasn't it. Life has been stressful with a lot going on recently. I think I'm finally back on track though, thank fuck for that. My Best Friend who moved to Texas back in 2017 has moved back home to South Carolina so that's great news! Work has been hell, but I am now an early bird, going to bed around 12AM-3AM and getting up around 8AM-9AM. Instead of going to bed around 4AM-6AM. I can get up in the morning, take care of Newgrounds related stuff, go to work in the afternoon, and come home and unwind on Newgrounds. Life is good in that regards. With that out of the way there has been a lot going on.

The Weekly Review with TGO #5

Well That Didn't Work

I. Daily Postings

I still intend on having Daily Postings. The Deli Stories are on the back burner for right now so I can get caught up on a lot of different projects. I have now have a proper calendar system in place for posting things. This you can see if you follow me on Patreon. Here is a small preview though for those who follow me on Newgrounds. That way you can know what days to expect something new!

iu_258864_1725585.png

II. The Interviewer

As you can see by the image above, I will be spending the entirety of Thursday formatting The Interviewer. Cleaning it up from top to bottom. Even the interviews that I have already cleaned up will be spruced up even more! Unfortunately due to the death of Flash, until The Interview Codex is Ruffle enabled, I am unable to update it at the current time.

If you missed the latest interview that came out, it was with @squeakytoad and you can read it here! The winner of the 2020 Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch and the winners of the Flash Forward Jam will be interviewed as well! There will also be an interview exclusive to Patrons on Patreon. When published, it will be there for one month until posted on Newgrounds!

If you're looking to participate in Pico Day, the winners of Pico Day in each category will be interviewed! Keep that in mind! I have also donated $100 to the prize pool for Pico Day and will be donating more in April.

III. The Underground & Dohn's Desk

These projects I have been working on behind the scenes for quite sometime now. It is time to finish the final drafts on a lot of things. The Underground is almost ready to go and I have something planned for Dohn's Desk, it's gonna be magical.

IV. Archive

I am also running an Archive here on Newgrounds. Collecting relics of the past for preservation going forward. I have a collection of stuff as it is, I just need to get it posted. As of right now in the Playlists section you can enjoy some music from Newgrounds Games and Movies. Click on a piece of album art below to check them out!

iu_258863_1725585.png iu_258862_1725585.png

iu_258866_1725585.png iu_258865_1725585.png

There are more in the Playlists for you to watch, play, and listen to! Including the Complete Madness Combat Series in chronological order!

V. Schedule

Well that certainly didn't work. I was gonna try and have something posted each and every day here on Newgrounds, but that doesn't look like it's gonna happen. The mainstays I will try to keep going at certain paces. With that said here's the layout. I'm not gonna make you any promises other than what is on the Calendar in the preview above, but this is what I'm looking at.

MONDAY - The Tank Tribune

This is absolute. I wish I could still do it on Sunday. With my work though, that's just not gonna happen. It needs to stay on Monday going forward. It is better for my sanity. There will not be an issue missed from this anymore, that I will promise you.

WEDNESDAY - The Interviewer

I'm going to shoot for a new interview every Wednesday going forward now. I have my suggestions list and some people on the back burner that I haven't been able to work on yet. One part being an interview that just about an hour ago I just finished doing research for. I mean I don't think I've ever read that much on Newgrounds before. If I can't hit every Wednesday it will be every other Wednesday. This is the day for The Interviewer and I would like to keep it that way.

As of right now, I will flip flop between a new interview and a Lost Episode until all the Lost Episodes are gone. There weren't many of them though, so it should be done in no time. That will also give me some breathing room to get back into full gear.

THURSDAY - Developer Spotlight

The old interviews from the Newgrounds Mag will be posted in the Archive, every Thursday until they are done. Expect those then.

FRIDAY - Dohn's Desk

This one is gonna be a bit lose for now. A new Somber Pensive will be up this Friday and after that I plan on making Friday the day for The Underground. Somber Pensive will find a new home on a different day in the week when I bring it back fully.

With that said, I thank you for your patience and understanding. I am back to work writing and I hope to continue doing so for all of you. The day of me posting this Weekly Review is an important day for me and I am thankful that I got to spend it here with all of you on Newgrounds. Writing and enjoying everything this site has to offer. While researching the interview I am working on I got taken down a trip through memory lane. You will all learn about that soon enough.

Been a while since I've spoken with all of you. My work life has been busy and trying to balance that with my writings got exhausting and I just lost track of everything. My day job pays the bills so that has to take priority. I think I have a new schedule though that should keep everything in check. Sorry for the absence on the updates.

The Weekly Review with TGO #4

Penciling in the Whole Damn Thing

I. Deli Stories

I have decided to write my Deli Stories. They will be posted on my Dohn page. I am changing some names, giving aliases to different people. I'm not sure what to call it though. The Deli Diaries, Tales of the Sub, Sisterhood of the Travelling Sandwich, don't know. This is still in pre-production right now. When it is ready it will be on Tuesdays.

II. The Interviewer

The Interviewer will be receiving updates on Wednesdays. That's not to say a new interview will be going up each Wednesday. These interviews are becoming more in-depth with the passing time and research alone takes up a lot of that time, especially with one interview I'm working on, which when completed will be a Patreon exclusive interview. It will be posted to The Interviewer in due time, but will available only to my Patrons first. This coming Wednesday there will be a new interview with @squeakytoad. It has been done, I just haven't posted it yet. Time is my greatest enemy.

III. Dohn

My Dohn page will be hosting different articles. The Underground with my Top 20 Favorite Video Games was mainly attributed to writers block followed by exhaustion. I am juggling a lot of different projects and hopefully have my ducks in a row. I'm still working on The Underground. Good news though is that Somber Pensive is making its return with an interview with one of Newgrounds most beloved members.

IV. The Tank Tribune

In case you missed it, The Tank Tribune has been moved to Mondays. I can not keep it up on Sundays anymore due to my day job. I've been working mornings at my day job and need my sleep. I used to work on putting together the paper late at night, post it between 5-6 AM EST, then go to bed. Can't do that anymore. Monday works better. For those who hate Mondays, hopefully that gives you something to look forward to.

The Forum History for this issue is going to be big and deal with some heavy subject matter, so reader discretion advised.

V. The Newgrounds Podcast

I was featured on @TheNewgroundsPodcast! Thank you to @GoodL for the highlight. I love you to @JohnnyGuy! He's back on the podcast now if you didn't know. @GoodL also caught the plague. He has recovered thankfully so that's wonderful news. Make sure you stay safe and healthy out there.

VI. Patreon

I am most thankful to two new Patrons. The first being @Saminat who joined under the Producer tier. Thank you so much for! The second being @Wegra. Thank you both for supporting my works, it means more to me than you will ever know. If you're reading this and want to show your support you can. There are perks, one being on the wall at the end of all of my projects.

VII. Schedule

Here is the current schedule starting next week. I am ready and I hope you are as well.

  • SUNDAY - Newgrounds Day
  • MONDAY - The Tank Tribune
  • TUESDAY - Deli Stories (Pre-Production)
  • WEDNESDAY - The Interviewer
  • THURSDAY - The Underground
  • FRIDAY - Somber Pensive
  • SATURDAY - The Weekly Review

Thank you all for following and reading my works. It means a lot. I've been on this site for over a decade now and I can only say that it never ceases to amaze me with the works on here. That's why if you noticed Sunday's are called Newgrounds Day. It means I will be browsing Newgrounds on that day. Which will most likely be at night before posting the paper. I have neglected my voting and haven't been reviewing as much as I should. I need to get back into that.

Go listen to all of this now! DO IT NOW!

My work week was filled with doubles. Thankfully though I have had the past three days off including today and I have tomorrow off. Been needing that to catch up on Newgrounds related stuff. This week's tribune is going to be even bigger than last week's, that's not because it is a special edition, which it is, but because there was just so much going on the site. I have also learned that I am moving a bit too quickly on the site and have missed a number of things here and there and made a bit of an ass of myself in the process. I have made my apologies though.

The Weekly Review with TGO #3

There Will Be News

I. Deli Stories

I am still weighing on whether or not to make a thread in the Writing Forum detailing my stories at my day job. I've been working that job for over seven years now. I've heard and seen some messed up stuff. Mostly from employees though oddly enough. I have been thinking of aliases to use to cover up people's identities. Will keep you updated if I decide to pull the trigger on this idea or not.

II. The Interviewer

Brand new interview went up. The Winners of the Art-Inspired Music Contest and the Music Inspired Art Contest, @littlbox and @Karlestonchew went up this week. You can read the two part interview here if you missed it. I also have next week's interview posted on my Patreon. It is available under all tiers. This is a once in a lifetime thing though. Future interviews posted ahead of time will only be for the Supporter Tier and higher! Don't despair though, these interviews will be posted to The Interviewer eventually.

The Lost Episodes will now be posted on The Interviewer with post commentary. Expect these every Tuesday. There are not many of them so it won't take too long to get through them.

III. The Underground

The Underground was a project I did a long time ago on the Video Games Forum. It was where I shared my thoughts on video games. It is making its return on my Dohn page. I will be making a return Friday - Oct 23. It will be Articles on the video game community, Then & Now, and Top 10s. Starting with my Top 20 Favorite Video Games. If you like video games then follow my Dohn page to stay up to date.

IV. Developer Spotlight

The old interviews from the Newgrounds Mag have been recovered. The first one is up on the Archive page. It was an Interview with Tom Fulp done back in 2001. Even back then Tom was thinking about a Video Portal and a Supporter System. These interviews will be posted once every Monday.

V. Newgrounds Library

On the Archive page I will be working on a library of helpful resources for the Newgrounds Community. It will also include stories told over the years on Newgrounds. The first addition will be a Writing Center to help aspiring writers here on Newgrounds.

VI. Patreon

I am thankful to have two new patrons this week. Thank you to @willKMR and @GoodL for supporting my work. It truly means a lot to me. I will be posting behind the scenes information on there. If you like what I do then please consider supporting me through my Patreon. If you can't, then put your money towards Newgrounds. Without Newgrounds my Patreon would be worthless. I am looking to post exclusive content in the Supporter Party Forum for Supporters of Newgrounds.

The first one being an exclusive interview with a prominent Newgrounds member. This interview will be available to Supporter Tiers and higher on my Patreon and available only to Newgrounds Supporters. It will be posted to The Interviewer eventually. To read it first though, consider supporting Dohn's Desk Productions or Newgrounds or both if you can.

That's enough plugging for now. Thank you all to those who support my endeavors. I never thought in a million years I would ever get paid to write. It is incredible. It wouldn't matter if I was or wasn't getting paid though, because I enjoy doing this and I enjoy those who like to read my works. I may not be doing creative writing anymore. I have though found my talents in journalism are quite good. I wished I had figured that out earlier. That's what happens when you follow your passion instead of what you're good at though. Thank you again.
