Life in your Hands

When my sister gave birth to her baby, I got a chance to hold my newborn nephew. To be able to hold the entire world in your arms... it truly is amazing.

I must say the song was a bit boring, but with the natural background sounds it gives the song a little bit more, so you have done an excellent job. I know my review is quite short and I apologize, but I've been busy lately. My apologies. Magnificent song as always.

Change

You did change a bit... this is different from your other works as well, but honestly I wasn't getting really a lot out of it. Maybe it was supposed to be that way I don't know. It was something nice I must admit and different from your other songs, but I think it's missing something.

I Think It's Fine

You really shouldn't add on to this, it makes for a great hotel theme. Please don't be offended by this, but it would make a great theme for a Hotel Hentai game. You did an excellent job on this... keep up the good work.

wouldn't be the first time my music was used for a porn game (check my other songs LOL)

Delayed Too Long...

I've delayed reviewing this for far too long now. This is the best Dance song I've ever heard on Newgrounds since LightWave by EON. This song is absolutely amazing. Every beat, every movement, every single note lined up just right. It is a bit repetitive, but in a good way and not in a boring way. The song didn't drag itself on and on and that was good, but it's not always a guarantee thing so don't bet on it always.

Desperate Times, Changes Times

I see a successful businessman, he is at a party celebrating his company's 20th year in businesss. He is also celebrating his retirement. However looking back on his life he regrets his past. What he did to the innocent people to get to where he is today... he still fears that his past will catch up with him, even though traces of his existence in his past are gone there is still a chance that someone will find out. All he knows is that desperate times called for desperate measures, and with that knowledge he could change time and make his future brighter... but is it truly a spotlight in which he is satisfied with?

I must say this was a beautiful piece, however I don't think it belongs in the Video Game genre, more like the Classical genre. I hope he'll forgive me for this, but this could give MaestroRage a run for his money. I could see the times between past, present, and then back to the present, but what you and others did not realize was that the present in the past-tense is the future. Regret, turmoil, and all for what. Although my message doesn't seem clear in my "scenario" it will set in one's mind upon reading it.

As a critic you have captured my mind today and put it in a place that I was happy to visit, yet sad to visit at the same time. I thank you for putting me through this, but at the same time hate you for it. You have made today a masterful song and I can't wait to hear your next great piece, I can see why you are proud of this.

Sincerely,
The-Great-One

Fellow Man in Times of Need

Three whose lives have been changed since yesterday. The letter that arrived in the mail. Sending off for war... to fight for your country. A man of age 26 packs his things, his girlfriend is pregnant, he leaves with tears down his face... better cry on the journey then cry at the arrival. A man of 31 gets his letter, he packs his things and ventures out ready to go... he's a happy go lucky guy with a good business and a good life, no wife, no children, just his money and his comedy, but he's really nothing more than a man with pretending to smile. A man of 45, is ready for his second trip. His son has died in the war already and he ventures towards battle with a purpose... revenge, however his wife does not wish for him to go, she has lost one already and can't lose another. These three will meet upon the field of battle and thus will have their own stories to tell and their own lives to share, but the question is, will their true selves be revealed before others?

Well I must say this was quite a good song, and I hope my story has entertained you. I just have one question... what game were you playing when you came up with the inspiration for this song. Also do you plan on writing a sequel to this song, that way I can continue this story.

Your song was really good, superb even and I can't wait to hear more from you.

Sincerely,
The-Great-One

I actually can't remember the game I was playing when I thought up the idea for the song. It wasn't actually the game that inspired me though. I remember I was thinking of the chord progression in Josh's song "War's Little Secret" ( http://www.n ewgrounds.com/audio/listen/96227 ) , and then all of a sudden this idea popped in my head. After a few hours, I had the basis for this song.

Maybe it was Final Fantasy Tactics I was playin... oh well, lol. Thx for the story! It was awesome!

Also.. if you want to write an end to your story.. try listenin to my other solo song "What Have I Done?"

Majestic

I have no idea where this fits in except as a trailer theme for a movie. A romantic scene from the start, then we shift to the scenes of battle. A fight for our friends, but this is certainly not medieval in any way. The streets... the REAL streets, where people will actually kill one another with knives and guns instead of the bullshit "gangsta thug" shit. Tonight lovers will slay those who stand in thier way. Although it is said that this is a cruel fate not only for the victims, but for those who commit the crime, it's a love story... who is to say that it isn't... Bonnie and Clyde did the same thing.

Sorry for that little tale above, but this song just put that story in my head for some reason, I can't explain why, but it just did. Your song loops perfectly... you probably didn't notice that and it is quite beautiful. I hope to hear more greatness from you soon.

don't be sorry for the great review man you've done a good job. Thanks for the great review!! =)

The Irish are Proud

The dancing of happy times. Crimes are scarce, hardships are little, and the people, the people are a joyous community. World domination is not seen within the Irish eyes and they're proud of this.

Sorry about that, this song just made me think of the Irish having a party. It's a really good song I must say and to be honest there should be a Celtic genre on Newgrounds so stuff like this could be honored and given better appreciation.

Jamming...

You are defitinitely jamming here. Although it seems a bit repetitive, I think that is what gives it it's interesting flare. I enjoyed this piece rather much, I mean I haven't heard the original Gladness, but I must say I'm really liking this one with the Piano. I want to see more piano works from you.

Sincerely,
The-Great-One

Manhart responds:

Thanks a lot for the review.
It is indeed very repitive because of the same 4 chords all the the through.
But I felt that the melodies, and the shortness of the song made up for it somehow :P
The "original" is one I posted some days ago with a Slayer Guitar in it. People complained about it, so I wanted to try a version without it. You should check it out for comparison :)
Thanks again.

Very Nice...

This song is great. You've got an outstanding voice and this song has given me more inspiration for our novel Carpe Diem. I can't wait to see more from you. You're doing an outstanding job.
